Parenthood

Children are so pure, so tabula rosa,

So where does it all go wrong?

Is it in the prima donnas paraded on tv?

Or is it the carte blanche attitude that we all can see?

But what exactly is the modus operandi on helping your magnus opus stay so pure?

After all we all feel we are helping in a bona fide way.

Well, c’est la vie, I just don’t know anymore,

Tempus fugit and then they are grown up.

Leaving their alma mater and out on their own,

En route to adulthood.

Carpe diem, that’s all you can advise,

Getting déjà vu of your own history inside.

The uncertainty of what’s next to come,

It isn’t bon voyage, even though you feel unneeded, like your work here is done.

Trifecta week 102 – A Love Gone Wrong

This week Trifectra are asking for exactly 33 of your own words about love gone wrong.  But we’re asking that you not use any of the following words:

love, sad, tears, wept, heart, pain

My eyes are streaming, the banks are burst and I crumble as I hear your feet walk away. I hurt inside more than you know, but we couldn’t go on another day together.
