Parenthood

Children are so pure, so tabula rosa,

So where does it all go wrong?

Is it in the prima donnas paraded on tv?

Or is it the carte blanche attitude that we all can see?

But what exactly is the modus operandi on helping your magnus opus stay so pure?

After all we all feel we are helping in a bona fide way.

Well, c’est la vie, I just don’t know anymore,

Tempus fugit and then they are grown up.

Leaving their alma mater and out on their own,

En route to adulthood.

Carpe diem, that’s all you can advise,

Getting déjà vu of your own history inside.

The uncertainty of what’s next to come,

It isn’t bon voyage, even though you feel unneeded, like your work here is done.

MANIPULATE

To touch, to mould, to change, to incubate,

To scold, to punish, to bully, to manipulate.

To bruise, to harm, to fix, to educate,

The perfect person in which you cultivate.

To have and to hold, till death you illustrate.

But now your left with no one to intimidate,

Because leaving is the last thing you ever anticipate.

You try to change things, you try to communicate.

But the damage you did, you wont ever vindicate.

Trifecta week 111 – Manipulate

This week Trifectra asks for 33 to 333 of your own words inspired by the following word – MANIPULATE.

MANIPULATE

To touch, to mould, to change, to incubate,

To scold, to punish, to bully, to manipulate.

To bruise, to harm, to fix, to educate,

The perfect person in which you cultivate.

To have and to hold, till death you illustrate.

But now your left with no one to intimidate,

Because leaving was the last thing you ever anticipate.

You try to change things, you try to communicate.

But the damage you did, you wont ever vindicate.

What do you see?

If you were an old person what would you see?

A young and naive person? or would you see me!

If you were a teacher what would you see?

A kid with no prospects? or would you see me!

If you were a business man what would you see?

A yob in a tracksuit? or would you see me!

If you were a social worker what would you see?

Someone messed up? or would you see me!

If you were a police man what would you see?

A homeless person on the streets? or would you see me!

If you were a doctor what would you see?

An alcoholic with pneumonia? or would you see me!

If you are were an undertaker what would you see?

Yet another dead body? or would you see me!

I won’t judge you, if you don’t judge me,

Let’s get to know each other, and see what we see!

Little Boat of Dreams!

If I was a sailor,

Would you come with me?

In my little boat of dreams,

For everyone to see.

Would you hide your vision?

The creativity you show me,

Would you throw them overboard?

To be lost forever at sea.

For if nobody sees your dreams,

Nobody can laugh, mock and tease,

If nobody sees the real you,

Nobody can be mean.

Please come with me on my little boat of dreams,

And lift your spirits high,

To let the real ‘you’ spread its wings,

and saw above the sky.
